    Firewall Install - Bracket Modification Thread

    So with all of our firewalls there is a small bracket that needs to be modified and relocated for proper fitment. All of this can be done with simple hand tools. I prefer the use of a bench vice.

    This is the bracket that needs to be modified. Remove the sensor from it, then use a 10mm to remove the bracket. This bracket is on the side of the passenger strut tower.




    As you can see, the bracket has a twist in it. You will need to straighten that bracket, I use a bench vice for it.




    Then you will need to put a 90 degree bend in it, just above where the bracket sits.




    The bracket then gets re-mounted to the ground stud, on top of the strut tower, not the side of it (The OEM mount). Turn the sensor towards the back of the car.





    Now you can finish the fitment of the firewall, it should line up perfectly. Please keep in mind if you do not do this then the firewall will hit in numerous places, this bracket in the OEM location will throw everything off.

    Nope, I had to do that on mine and I'm a v6

    Spring Tech drop springs, 20" Bigg wheels, Big Bully intake, Eyelids, added factory foglights, 6 pc billet grille, aftermarket tinted tails,custom painted pcs under hood, billet tech. knobs,locks, and front emblem, 3G fuse box cover and firewall, Abs cover, color matched interior pcs,added factory leather seats, Killa Glass, painted calibers
