It definately would cause a problem. remember when running wire to seperate signal and power/ground. also taping wires could cause a short which in turn would create a scrachy type of noise, whereas running signal and power wires together normally create a high pitched engine wine. try seperating the wires (signal and power/ground) rechecking where you tapped or spliced in and possibly make a much more secure connection. good luck
