There is a single cable that runs from the monitor to a in/out box. There are 2 A/V inputs on the box and 1 on the unit itself. The box requires 2 power leads (gnd/ign). I used the cig lighter for the source of the ign power(This spring I will rewire both the amps and unit from the Kenwoods remote out). Of couse Alpine came out with an in-dash 6.5" DVD Monitor/HU for $200 cheaper than I paid of the Kenwood for 2006(bastards).
The monitor also has a FM modulator, so that what ever audio you plug into the inputs can be player over even a stock radio. The only draw back is that Alpine includes only 1 IR headphone ($20 for another one).
The monitor has 2 banks of 8 super white LEDS as a dome light that interface with the dome light. I wired them to the unit itself to reduce the number of wire runs and I am going to convert all the stock dome lights to blue LEDS and it looked like a pain to replace the white LEDS in the unit.
For $2350 (list) i can tell you how to get a full blown (2 10", 2 6.5" visor and a DVD/CD/MP3/WMA Receiver system using all Alpine equiptment). Or about $950 to get a
LEGAL DVD system.
Well if you have any questions or onthe Alpine line, feel free to PM me. Or post here, this way others can see it too. I usually check the site atleast 1 time a day so I will see it as a new reponse post.
