Perhaps on older models (or current models of our competitors) you see this, about 6 months ago we switched to exclusively using Bridgelux LEDs. These are Made in the USA and are the highest quality LED that you can buy for this application. They are rated to handle voltage and current you would find in the most extreme vehicle and we have only had a small amount of RMAs on these and many were due to installer error, pulling off resistors trying to remove 3M tape, power wires contacting the grounds, etc but not actually the LEDs themselves.

what would be the fool proof way to install them and be 100% positive none of these issues come up as to why the leds are working..

are inverters needed? do they come with them?

If we do the installation in house then you do not need to worry about installer error. No, these do not take inverters.
