The retail price for the coated 2006-2010 years will be around $485 because of the increased cost of the stock parts. What does everyone think - not worth that? Still interested but not immediately? As my customers - I greatly value your opinions so speak up

Ryan,
While you effort to bring performance parts to the table for the V6 guys is greatly appreciated I think both price and installation of these covers might deter your “average” Mag owner from jumping on them.
First the price, I am not suggesting your mark-up is too high (since I don’t even know what is involved in making these) but at $415 for a part that is hard to show definite HP gains will not sound all that appealing to most. I understand why these are nearly impossible to test on a dyno and the temperature results and theory behind them is great but at this cost I can only see performance “addicts” being interested in the part.
Second the install, I imagine replacing this is quite involved? Probably something an average person is not willing to take on resulting in the need to spend a few more hundred dollars to get these installed. I am sure the easier DIY bolt on like intake, predator and maybe exhaust would be first on peoples list before getting around to these.
That’s just my thoughts on this item anyway. I hope you don’t discontinue the idea due to poor sales and I am sure if they are around long enough people will find their way to them. I know I would add them to my list once funds become available.

I agree with you Andrew and thats one reason Ive been hoping for more feedback even if its as simple as - hey those are cool but cant afford them, or oh yeah those are nice but I woudnt have a clue how to install them. The installation process is less complicated then the lower manifold but you do have to remove the plenum which a lot of people are afraid of. Its really just more bolts to remove but they are all easy to access - no special tools necessary, no specific torque rating, no unusual or special way you have to remove or install them. And you know me and the products I have, the markup isnt all that high on any of them. With my margin on the TB and manifold by the time I issue the core refund and pay all expenses and factor my labor Im not taking home a lot considering the time it takes. Now other then fronting the money for R&D and buying the stock parts and paying up front for the coating the labor is minimal for these for me but Im just paying someone elses labor. At the current price I'd have to sell 3 sets of valve covers to break even not including my time spent for R&D. I totally agree - this is for the performance addict or the "show crowd" but I had my current & future customers in mind when doing the R&D. Plus the expansion of the aftermarket...S/C, stroker motors, heads/cams, etc.
