Factory speaker replacement
Today I went to my local car audio store and purchased some Alpine Type R 6x9s for my rear. Got everything hooked up and thinking this is going to sound GREAT! And Blah... My factory speakers sound alot better. Now my frount door speakers are still stock so after fading the sound from frount to back Wow 110 bucks and sounds like pooop!!! Now if you are looking for treable and no bass I guess there ya go.
Tip for the day: Stay away from the Alpine 6x9's |

hmmmmmmmmmm When i went to best buy and tried these out they sounded great and i have had several friends recommend me them BECAUSE of their bass response.
As with my factory speaker replacement i was almost underwhelmed. Yes they sounded clearer on the highs but they didn't boom as much. Then i realized this is to be expected from a head unit.... So i am getting a 4/5chan amp very soon and wiring up to that and i know i will enjoy that. If you are getting the R series their RMS is at 100watts soooo i mean if you are using a head unit at under 20 to low 20s at best RMS this is what you should expect. |

Check your phase on the rear speakers, if you have the + and - mixed up from speaker to speaker it will cancel out bass and you will get nothing but highs out of them, you are also under powering them and you may not have enough power to move the woofer.

Rear speakers will NOT have any better mid bass to bass improvements. There isnt an enclosure for them to build bass. You might as well take ANY speaker and hang it out the door, it will sound the same.
