Amplifier question....

Hi all, Can a amplifier be added to the stock 2008 Magnum SE sound system? It's the 4 unbranded speaker system. Or will it need some special wiring?

Thanks!

How To: Install Speaker and Amp to OEM Radio

This should answer most of your questions. you will need to re run all the power etc and I personally would get a new head unit while you are at it anyways.

Not sure if those stock speaker can handle the wattage. I heard rumors is easily blown. Like txnhockey says..better to get a new head unit. So you'll have more control for the sound eq's etc.

I am not sure what the RMS is on the stock speakers but if you got even cheap 40 dollar or under speaker pairs you will notice the difference and if you pair them with the amp correctly you probably wont have to rip em out and replace them for a decent amount of time. If you need help picking out some speakers or amps or anything shoot me a PM and ill give you my email/ phone number to help you out

Thanks for all the help guys! Ok, I'm thinking of this setup now.....after hearing from all of you. I wonder if this stuff will fit properly.

Instead of the amp, considering this HUD. Says 4x 60W not sure if that's an upgrade over stock, if it's Rms or not, or if the dimentions are right for the Magnum. I just saw it in a post somewhere here, and liked the features.

And Alpine SPS-609 either on all four since they seem to fit easy in the front. Or have the Alpines in the front and something else in the back if something bigger can fit. Not looking to add a seperate subwoofer, so not sure what other options I got for the back or front speakers if I want'em to fit with the least amount of modding. Also considering the Alpine SPR-69C 2-way instead of 3-way, older, and a bit more expensive thant he 609s.

Also, I have no idea what other parts/connectors/adapters are needed to connect that HUD in the 08 Magnum other than what comes in the box.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm embracing my noobness in this matter

Update: I'm liking as well since they got a shallow mount.
