I'm about to upgrade my audio system for my 2005 Mag R/T. I'm running all stock right now (Boston Acoustics) . I have the head unit (Pioneer AVIC Z3) to replace the stock unit.
Will be putting Kicker RS 6.5" component speakers in the front doors and using the same for the rears. One RE Audio MX 12" sub to be placed in one of the rear pockets. I will be using a Kicker ZX Series 850 4 Ch. amp to power the Kicker RS 6.5" component speakers (4). Sub may be powered with a Kicker ZX 1000.1 watt mono amp. Installed also will be a Pioneer iPod adapter, Canbus harness, back-up camera, SWICAN steering wheel controller and Directed 4ga blue wire. It was recommended that dash speakers be deleted. I really don't want to loose my trunk space or spare tire, that's why I'm having the sub placed in one of the rear pockets. I need to know if the Kicker ZX 1000.1 amp is good enough to power the RE Audio MX 12" sub or should I use the ZX 1500.1? What should I use to help out the electrical system? Add battery, change battery and/or add cap(s)? Can these amps be hidden so trunk space and spare tire is not lost? Any help or recommendations will be greatly appreciated! |

I would give the sub at least 1500w, honestly they laugh at 1500w...
also watch the mounting depth on the pocket these subs are real deep..... as far as the kicker comps I would say save your money, you can do much better for the price..... and for power I would say upgrade the stock batt to a hc2400, and then maybe a hc800 in one side pocket.... if u get bad volatge drops |
