Strange sound after amp install

OK- After installing an amp, I get a strange sound even with the car and stereo turned off, I can't easily explain the sound but i hear the same sound coming from my computer at times, no- i'm not crazy.
Even stranger, it does it every time i use my cell phone (again, even with car and radio off) i'm not crazy, really!

Please Help!

Do you use a nextel? I notice my nextel interfer's with speakers. My computer speakers will start making noise before my phone even rings.

Back to your car, it sounds like the amp may still be getting power even after the car is off. Do you know where they tapped in for the remote turn on?

What kind of sound is it? A hissing sound? A popping sound?

..

I installed the amp ( 1st time, got all instructions from this website!) and I tapped into the #18 fuse i believe, with the blue wire that was provided in the amp install kit to turn the amp off when key is turned off.
The sound is not a hissing, and it's not a winding sound with the cars motor either...it's more of a beeping i guess. Like I said, my computer makes that sound all the time. Don't know how to "type" the sound or I would!
My phone is not a nextel, it's a Sony Ericsson. This is a strange one, I know!

this is more then likely caused by your cell phone. if i put mine by my TV or computer i get the same sound specially when i get a text or a call. give it a test go for a drive without your phone... If that doesnt fix it then you might have a bad ground which could cause you to hear your altanater...

peybella is just warmin' up!
Not having a computer I would have guessed a poor ground.

I do know that when I have my laptop mounted in my Mag and a call comes through, I get a little interference on the laptop. My cell is mounted just under my laptop stand so it is fairly close when they are working together. I have received a call and lost my GPS signal for a couple of seconds.

05HEMIMAGNUM is an unknown quantity at this point
My wife and i both had Nextel and we experienced that problem with my previous car, also, we had an issue with the ground cable.. It was poorly installed and that was a big part of the issue.. Hope you take care of it, let us know..

There may be a commonality here. A poor ground along with cell phone use?

HMMMM - Interesting and maybe something to follow up with. It's seems a more common issue than I would have expected so let us know what you find out Silver.

you might try running the rca wires on one side and your power wire on the other. the rca's can pick up on the power if they are all next to one another

Good point. Like programmable logic controls, the rca wire's would be susceptible to freq. degradation or emissions.

But it's not the engine humming kind of noise, it happens right before my phone rings or if i dial out. Just a little while ago I was sitting here on my pc when my phone received a text message, and my pc made the same sound!
I don't know, maybe it's not a big issue and i'll just deal with it-besides if the music is up loud i can't hear the noise anyways!!
