Navigation w/ Traffic

Does anyone know if it's possible to get traffic updates on the 05 RT navigation system?

Looking at that list on the link it appears that only the 2008 model is compatible?

I've been using my Tomtom (which is the shiznit) that grabs traffic updates through my Motorola Q, and re-routes me accordingly, but with Factory nav, traffic would be ideal. it is definitely necessary for my commute.

The best you get with the stock Nav system is siruis. But it is only a news feed. The new mygig has alot more functionality towards that type of system. The aftermarket systems might also have that capabilities. Someone else will have to answer that.

Would the 08 Mygig work/fit in my 05? Meaning if I switched to the 08, would I still get maintenance updates? If not, I'll go aftermarket. Like I said, I use the Tomtom because for my commute, traffic updates are absolutely necessary. For me, It's worth the $2k to get the new Mygig, but only if I still get the maintenance updates.

There have been people that attempted to put the Mygig in previous models. With a lot of work they did get most of the functions to work. But in my opinion it was to much work and not 100% success.

There has been at least one successful grafting of a mygig to older LXs...
But now there is the lockpick adapter that allows you to plug and play one.
The only thing that doesn't work is the clock, and that's because the newer LX's have a time module on the canbus that the older ones didn't so the mygig doesn't keep it's own time. The added benefit of the adapter is being able to unlock the in motion video and nav entry plus a cool harness that allows you to add additional cameras, screens etc.

I love my mygig. it rocks, has nav with traffic updates from sirius, a 20gb hard drive and touchscreen DVD and looks factory and doesn't stand out to thieves.
