I'm told (by the stealership) that we have Mercedes wiring which is " complicated". This while they were trying to sell me on the factory alarm system which "retails" for $2000, but they were willing to give it to me for $495. I declined cuzz I have an Ungo (Clarion) remote start/alarm that I want to install.
Would u recommend I have it installed by the dealer, or is the "complicated" wiring they speak of horse shit. Secondly, will it void my warranty in any way?
I've heard a few people say installing it on the Mag was a little pain but nothing OVERLY complicated! Seems to me like they're trying to make them some money.....they're a STEALERSHIP for goodness sake. Its illegal to automatically void warranty without proof that the aftermarket product was at fault!
hmm i know gomojo31 has an alarm system with a remote start and he told me there was some difficulty with it so maybe u should pm him and find out!! keep us informed
Sorry i cant vouch for the wiring systems but if the dealership denies you warranty (or even threatens you with it) Here is a resource with plenty of the details on how its illegal and when you are infact voiding your warranty etc..... LINK

GREAT info txnhockey. The short of it is, don't install any aftermarket parts that deal w/emissions...lol
pm sent man, but I forgot the following. there's no way an aftermarket alarm will void your warranty. I'm not possitive if we have "mercedes" wiring but it was rather complex and it took a couple of days to program it right. with my setup we kept having issues with the car starting and staying on, the starter was engaging for too long or not long enough, throttle was too much or not enough, it was a pain and the people that did it are no amateurs. I think a shop install would be safest and stay away from the stealership!
