Is the mirror rattle coming from the inside of the casing or the casing itself?

I ask because I had a rattle issue with my drivers side. I replace the mirror set with chrome folding mirrors from DUB. As I was removing the driver side mirror for replacement I found that one of the three mounting prongs was broken inside of the door panel. They are not very sturdy.

I have never had a problem since.

I have door panel removal directions if you guys would like to check this out.

Just an idea.

Regards

I believe the rattle is coming from where the mirror is mounted to the housing. also the swing arm or joint seems to be a little loose. I just had the door panel off this last weekend but was reluctant to start removing my mirror. I guess i know what i'm doing this weekend.

If you had the panel off then removing the mirror assembly is no big deal. The hardest part is the panel.

It's just a matter of unscrewing the 3 nuts from the mounting post and unplugging the power. Being careful not to drop the nuts of course as they are small.

Let us know what you find if you decided to dig further. Plus, if you find that it's inside the housing it seems that this would be a warranty issue. Might be worth checking out.
