Ordered, paid, now the wait....
I was originally going to get these...Infinity Reference 6820CS 6x8 Components
![]() But decided against that and went with these: Infinity Reference 475A Amp ![]() ![]() ![]() Infinity 6020CS 6.5" Component System ![]() Infinity 9623I 6x9 3-way co-axial ![]() 6x9 Bracket adaptor ![]() One 6.5" and tweeter together are a total of 2 Ohms. One 6X9 is also a total of 2 Ohms. Crutchfield wanted almost 700 just for the amp and the two sets of speakers. I got em all on ebay for 318 and some change. BNIB. This is the prologue because I have to save up again for the subs and mono amps. That will be another day/thread. |

Thanks guys.
Hopefully they all get here by the weekend. Ordered it today so we'll see. This is just to replace the stock speakers still in the magnum right now. My headunit has been changed out for some time now. The boom won't come till later when I do finally get the funds for the subs and the amp. For now, this setup is concentrated on bringing the mid and highrange out cleaner and with less effort. I'll take pics of the install for everyone to see. Right now I'm planning on putting the 6.5's in the rear with the adaptor and keeping the 6x9s in the doors to try to retain some kind of bass output. The reality is there is no way to get the 6x9's in the rear to produce close to the same bass response as the fronts. My magnum came with the cd player non-nav setup...no factory amp either. So when I swapped out my head unit the stock speakers still performed the same. Some people thought that the front was getting more power than the rear. What is actually happening is the door is more acoustically tuned for the 6x9 than the rear. Hope that makes sense for most people. |

Just thought I would put it out that I have been approved to sign for our military housing tomorrow.
So the plan to install this weekend has been postponed. I'll take pics of the items when they get here which is scheduled for delivery on thursday so I'm just hoping it does come then. |

6x9's are delayed, but heres the rest of the shipment.
![]() ![]() ![]() The faceplate for the amp slipped out of my hand and got a small scratch but its minor anyways. The amp was the only thing I wanted to get out of the plastic, the 6.5's and the brackets are still unopened. Just gotta finish moving and then I can install it. 6x9s should be here by then too so its just more waiting. |
