Here is something I found on ebay - eBay: Pioneer avh-p7800 dvd ,6800 dvd, 5700dvd video bypass (item 230094820527 end time Mar-01-07 2045 PST)

What about hooking up some sort of toggle switch to trick the head unit into thinking the e brake is on?

there is a couple of things you can do...
the most reliable and most expensive is get a special relay that automatically tricks your head unit for about $75 (PM for the model # because i don't have it in front of me)
option #2: or you run the foot brake cable (+) to the parking lights and the parking brake cable (-) to a toggle switch connected to the neg of the cig lighter.....you turn on the parking lights, toggle the switch a couple of times (making sure to leave it in the "on" position) then turn off the lights and you should be able to watch at your leisure. you can also turn your headlights on after that and it will still work fine. I have the alpine iva-w200 with the switch under my dash by my knee and it works just fine

I have the same unit which i had installed about a week ago, they hooked up a toggle switch inside my ashtray, when the car is on drive a message will appear on the screen, i have to hit the toggle switch twice and then hit the "OK" button on the actual screen and the image appears right away. I believe most car stereo shops carry this unit due to the fact that most DVD players have the same warning.. Let us know if you take care of the issue.

i think i'm gonna get one of those relay units or something. or i may just have one of those switches installed. i've never fooled with those switches or anything and i'm sure that i would be able to hook up one of those relays. thanks.

Your best best is to go to a car audio shop and they will give you exactly what you need and you'll know that it's going to work for sure.
