05 RT Speaker help...6.5's, 6x9's, factory amp, aftermarket & Evic?

I have a few questions, so any help is appreciated.
  • I have a 1200 Watt amp and 2 12's that I'm going to put in the back of my 05 RT. I took it out of my truck that also had four 6.5 components, and two 4x10's powered by a separate amp. My Question is, will the factory Bose 6 speaker system be sufficient with my 12's? Should I upgrade the factory amp, or the Bose speakers, or both? Or with the Bose system, will simply hooking up the 12's and it's amp be sufficient.
  • Also, I've heard conflicting reports on the factory speakers. Some say it comes with 6x9's, other's say 6.5's up front and 6x9's in the back. Can someone clarify. if it's 6.5's, then it would make sense to replace them with the components from my truck right?
  • I'm conflicted on if I should upgrade to a MyGig, or go aftermarket. magnumman confirmed for me that when upgrading to a MyGig, the evic display still works and can be controlled via steering wheel. Can anyone with an 05 RT confirm if thats the case with an aftermarket Nav? The main thing that's keeping me from going aftermarket is I want to be sure that when It's installed and conencted to the steering wheel controls, it won't interfere with the steering wheel controlling Evic display.

Thanks Magwag,

I know that with a wiring harness the steering wheel controls will work with the aftermarket nav, but my question is will the steering wheel controls continue to work with my Evic Display?

I didn't have steering wheel controls so I can't answer that.
The mygig lockpick allows them to still work supposedly... not sure if the harness that Magnumman makes will.

Right, I understand that the Evic Display will work when upgrading to the MyGig. I'm trying to find someone who's installed an aftermarket Nav, with the steering control wiring harness, and find out if THEY were still able to control the Evic Display. Like i said, i know it can be done with the Mygig, but I'm trying to decide which is the best route for me to go...Mygig, or aftermarket, so I need to know pro's/con's of each. Also, can anybody help w/my other two questions?
