Thumbs down basslink installed

I recently installed an Infinity Basslink system in my 05 Magnum SXT. The sub is self powered and is connected to the rear speakers. The problem is when the bass hits I am getting a scratchy noise in my front speakers. What is even more weird is that when I drop the rear seat, the noise goes away. Anyone have any suggestions cause this is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance.

i am grounded directly to the ground on the battery.....could it be that the front speakers just can't handle the bass?

Are you using rca's or line level inputs? when you drop the back seat, there may be a possibility that a wire has been pinched, or is pinched when the seat is in the upright position, and when in the down position the stress or pinch is relieved. the scrachy noise might be a short along the line, or possible a bad speaker connection...let me know if this helps.

check the connection where you spliced into the rear speakers...the big bass notes may rattle the connection enough to flicker...like running two wires over eachother to create the signal spikes but not holding the signal over a constant. just a thought.

ill take a look. thanks. Would having all the wires taped together cause anything? I have the wires from the speakers and the power and ground all taped together running to the basslink.

It definately would cause a problem. remember when running wire to seperate signal and power/ground. also taping wires could cause a short which in turn would create a scrachy type of noise, whereas running signal and power wires together normally create a high pitched engine wine. try seperating the wires (signal and power/ground) rechecking where you tapped or spliced in and possibly make a much more secure connection. good luck
