^^ The cable will not stop fires since it is wrapped in rubber, but being oxygen-free helps the cables from getting hot fast during excessive currents. It is like a bulb. If the filament was introduced to air while lit, it will instantly burn out the filament. Oxygen-free allows the cables to remain cooler longer.

^^ Are you tagging on to every word that I type? I beg to differ with the heat issue on oxygen-free cables, but you are more than welcome to think otherwise. Less oxygen means less iron impurities. Technically, when used within the recommended lengths, you will never be able to tell the difference between it and oxygen ingested cable. Name brands make no difference to me either. If you will only use about 5' of cable, you can still maximize the performance of it.
