Finished moving and the install...
Well haven't been here in a while since I was moving.
Finished moving and then jumped right into installing my speakers and amp. These were just to fill the mids and highs that the crappy factory speakers weren't doing too good at. I do things my way and the way I did this setup, I have to say I am extremely satisfied. I know I'm gonna get some heat for the way I did it, but I didn't see the point in putting 6.5's in the door when the 6x9's are better suited for the door than the rear. The 6x9's in the door still maintained the bass response I wanted from these size speakers and a bit more to boot. The 6.5's in the rear, believe it or not, actually have great mid bass response considering the type of "enclosure" its in and the highs are still crisp and clear all around. All in all, infinity once again has not disappointed me. On to the pics which are nothing fancy. ![]() ![]() ![]() My cargo area is a bit messy so dont mind it in the pics. Hemi R/T...all I can say is that 6.5's are definately the best way to go as far as the rears are concerned.
I did try the 6x9's in the rear first but they were choking badly on any kind of bass note. If you do decide to do the 6.5's in the rear, I got the adaptor plates from crutchfield. I believe they were around 20 bucks and some change with shipping for a pair. Good luck. |

Right - it's your car and you can set-up the sound any way you want!
I have the Boston set-up in my car, so I have enough high's up front, I just want to replace the crappy 6x9 full ranges in the back with a good two-way or something. Then I'll be happy. |

kingswinging...you can always just drop a 6.5 coax or component. Infinity also makes a 6x8 component set. Either way you go is better than a 6x9 in the back. Good luck in your quest.
Notpaid if you were in the area all you would have to do is ask. I'm in centex so quite a ways from a lot of people. |
