Air space for rear pocket sub Box
I have seen quite a few custom fiberglass sub boxes grafted into the rear side pockets. Does anyone have an approximate air space for it? For instance, with a 10" in there how much cubic ft of space is there? 12"?
And secondly, has anyone tried to use the Kicker L5 or L7 for those, or the shallow mount subs from pioneer and what not? How do they sound compared to your basic run of the mill sub in that pocket box? Just trying to design an audio system, and debating on doing the pockets, or just building a large box to place up against the rear seat. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. FYI, I have the Stock Nav unit, and will probably hang on to it, so I am going to be using a line converter, and read the best place to splice in is the front door? Any personal experiences with rear 6x9's vs front for the splice? Which sounds better, or is anything even noticable. Thanks |
