    IMO build it on the big side then tune down. You can get a pretty good idea just by squaring everything off. You could always do the ball thing before the first coat of resin.

    This is my first ever attempt at fiberglass. So I can't really say if its better than any other brands.

    I'm using the fiberglass mat, not 100% on the brand. Seems to be working out just fine though.
