It's a good idea until your battery dies and you can't get to the battery to put power to it to open the hatch. Good thing there's power point under the hood too.

That's a very good point!
I had mine in the garage (front end in) and I had that problem.
It was a little work to get my 230lbs back there to open it manually.

No kiddin...its a hell of a stretch to reach it from the back seat area...
he first thing I thought of was weight distribution, then I realized the conveniance of the posts under the hood when the sumgun died and the back was loaded w/ stuff!
Either that or their was no room in the engine compartment. I know their isn't much room in the compartment on my R/T. It makes it a lot easier to run power for you amps. You don't have to find a hole in the firewall to poke the cable through and then run 10+ feet of wire.
Yea, absolutely understand that. We had to run wire through the firewall of our truck to hook up our bumper lights and our additional reverse lights. Let me tell you, THAT was fun The battery in the back was actually a great idea, in my opinion.
Well actually dodge got the idea for the battery in the back from bmw....but yeah it is great, but my big butt had to climb back thier once because the hatch malfunctioned...not fun for a 6'2" 319lbs man. =)
and is it just me or does that battery look bigger than a normal batt?

I think the battery in the is because of space under the hood. The Chrysler Cirrus has the battery in the left front fender. Which by the way is the first thing to go in a front end crash. Also the battery might look a little bigger because it has a venting system built into the top of it and the vent tube drops down threw the trunk floor. If it didn't vent outside of the car you would have a bad corrosion problem in the trunk and the fumes would be over powering while driving the car
