from what I was told it helps even out weight distribution with it in the back and also stops corrosion.....
Either that or their was no room in the engine compartment. I know their isn't much room in the compartment on my R/T. It makes it a lot easier to run power for you amps. You don't have to find a hole in the firewall to poke the cable through and then run 10+ feet of wire.
Battery in the rear was strictly a weight distribution move, but it is nice for you super audio folks to have it back there.

I thought it was a secndary as well. another plus is no need to come in backwards on the highway to give someone a jump or be jumped if a batteries dead. I'm gonna defiantly take advantage of this now with an AMP and sub! no more running/hiding cables and getting through the firewall! good move on dodge's part!
