Major Video Mod Teaser
OK here's a sneeky peek at what I've been up to:
It's a multi-source video system consisting of two headrest monitors, Nav&TV2Go on the stock Nav unit in the dash, 2 DVD players, front and rear cameras, iPod / audio interface and an A/V switcher with individual control at each "station". 3 different things can be watched at the same time! Headphones for the back monitors or audio can play through the stereo system. The install is well underway but more needs to be done.... I won't even have the DVD players until next week ![]() A/V switch box and station controller > ![]() Dash video controller, Nav2Go switch and interior LED lighting switch mounted in ashtray > ![]() Rear station video controller mounted in rear door ... one in each door to control each headrest monitor > ![]() Close up of same ![]() I've been busy! Tomorrow it's finishing up the dash work and the iPod / audio interface, mounting the A/V box in the rear and giving it a test run with a portable DVD player I already have. My kids are gonna flip!! |

That looks factory well done...whats the purpose of of the dash video controller? Does it actually make the Navscreen turn into a Video player too, Im guessing that whole Clarion Controller is needed or is that for a aftermarket Unit?

The factory Nav unit has the Nav&TV2Go mod done to it, so when you throw the bottom black switch in the ashtray the display switches from the factory nav screen to a video screen. The controller next to the switches in the ashtray determines what video source you are watching on the screen (DVD 1, DVD 2, front camera). Same for the controllers in the back. The rear camera comes on automatically when it is shifted into reverse.
