its so damn illegal though!
The area where the visors are dont have any support other than the small bracket that the visor mounts to. The best thing I would do is use just some visor mount monitors. IMO the flip down(s) would look too hokey for my tastes. I am a firm hater of the "hater" monitors that show out the rear windows so that everyone but anyone in the car/truck can see them. If its not funtional it all bling for blink's sake.
your custom work on your nav bezel is very impressive!!!!! it looks damn good!
now you have thrown all my original plans off, originally i wanted a similar type double din in-dash unit like yours, then i found out that it wouldnt fit due to size, then i decided to go with the flip-out screens and then i decided against that because i just didnt like the way those look/function so then i said ok lets be practical, so then i decided just to go with a basic old fashioned HU, im sure a custom stereo shop can do that kind of work but we'll see, id rather spend my cash on the sub/speakers/amps
but yours looks awesome!! you should take up doing those bezels for people who want that type of HU hehe keep up the great work!

Thanks for the comps. I orginally asked the guys at the stereo shop where I got most of my stuff from about the cost of doing the bezel. I was quoted $150-$200. I had all the tools already just needed to buy the spot filler and the textured paint. Cost me about $18 total with sandpaper and stuff. Being the DIY'er I said what the heck. The hardest part was taking my time, im a I want it NOW guy hahah. Took me a total of 3 days to do it.
Day 1 cut, epoxy, fill sand, let dry
Day 2 fill, let dry
Day 3 paint, let dry
As fo doing it on the side for others, Now days its alot easier to jsut get a NAV bezel and mounting kit. Most prople want a way to go back to stock if they decide to trade-in. I went and found a replacement bezel incase I do.
That is some great work!
I am going to buy the bezel because I am not as gifted!!
This is the first time I ever tried something like this. I bought a spare bezel just in case it didnt come out. It really not that hard. Epoxy, sandpaper, spot putty, single din kit (or can buy plastic blanks from a stereo shop) and Patience!!!! I had to stop myself to do it all in the same day aah. 3 days and about $20, funny part the stereo shop wanted to charge $180 to do it.
I'm a little late on this thread but I wanted to say how impressive your handy work was.
I looks fantastic! And I'll take $20 over $180 everytime.
Once again.... Nice job.
