Wet Speakers;
I was wondering if speakers will still work if they get wet? I have some 6x9's (my stock ones) that were left in a box outside when it rained.

Thats what I was thinking. I am re-doing my stereo wiring and experimenting with the odd-assortment of speakers I have! Those were just stock but my Sony Explodes sound like crap (I think one is blown..) and I thought the stock ones might sound better.
They were wet for a while-about 2 weeks! I thought they were in the shed but... |

I have another question: I have a speaker box for 2 6x9's but it has no carpet on it. Does that make a difference in the sound? If so, I think I will be heading out to go buy some, which brings me to another question (I'm full of 'em!) Where do I get that kind of carpet? Can I use a different type of material, like for upholstery?

The carpet is mostly cosmetic. I found some cheap stuff at either Home Depot or Lowes, can't remember which. It was on there huge bulk rolls on the wall. Our local one had grey or black. I think I spent $20 for a piece 2' X 12'. You can cover it in anything you want, even leather!

SM go to the parts store, (Autozone or Advance Auto Parts) Get a can of 3m spray adhesive that is what I usually use. Hope this helps.
