sub box question

Quick question for you guys. I can't find a sub box that I like so I am building a custom fiberglass box that will sit against the back of the back seats. My question is I was thinking about cutting out the word "Magnum" on the front face of it, and then putting a piece of plexiglass on the back of it so that it still will be sealed airtight and then put a neon light behind it. This won't affect the sound right? Don't think it would but didn't know if they diffrenent materials fiberglass to plexiglass would effect sound. Just thought would run it by you guys and see what you think. Thanks

That was my orignal thought, also have a capacitor with neon lights built into it. Might use that instead of a standard neon bulb.

Haven't started building the box yet, that is why I asked here so I can still modify plans if needed.

Was thinking about having a small compartment between each speaker compartment. Because I am planning on mounting the amp on the top middle of the box and then under could be walled off at the sides. should mimize the rattle, correct?

you would have to use some 2 sided tape..duct tape..super glue and screwed down... and probably more to make sure you got no rattle.

Why put plexi on the back?

I had Magnum on my box and LEDs inside all 3 ports. Was thinking about the cold cathodes that are used for halo lights, but the box didnt hold up with my wattage.

I would not go with neons. Just get some small LED bulbs and use those. I think it should sound fine though as long as its built right. Plus neons get hella hot.

Really could mess up the sound bouncing around i think...

Then again...
My hatch rattles, along with my back right speaker. Got dynamate for the speaker, i just don't know how to get the roof of the hatch from rattling.
