Installing 6 X 9 in the rear panels

I am installing some Infinity Reference 9623I in the rear and of course they are a too big. I have read here about using a Dremel to grind the opening bigger, but I'm wondering if one of those spacers rings will work? Anyone try to use these? Did it still allow enough clearance for the tweeter/mid assembly to not be touching the grill?

i have a 1/2 plate mounted on mine and have no clearance issues but i have a 6.5 and a 3.5 mounted in it
