sub layout help
so i need some ideas on how i can lay my subs/sound system. I dont wanna go in the side pockets (i think it looks awesome, but everyone has done it) and i dont want just a plain box thrown up against the back seats. i like things to look finished and clean. and i dont wanna loose the spare tire either.
i've got one amp to fit in, and 2 10" mtx subs that are about 6.1" deep so, ideas? anyone? ![]() |

yea man with just 2 tens you can pretty much do anything from doing two fiberglass pods in the rear or continuing the center console all the way to the rear and build the box on the rear hump and do them reverse . really if u can think it you can do it with glass

Here is the box I did in the beginning housing 1 10" Alpines. The box measured 39x18x7. This gave a mounting depth of 6.25" If you notice it sits 1/4" higher than the amp rack cover. It worked out perfect that a piece of carpeting was 1/4". So with the amp cover covered it looked flush. 18" allowed me to cut the composite battery cover (the felt plastic thingy) at the fold point.
![]() Unfort I dont have any pics of the cover covered, I lost a HD with all my pics. The same box modded for a 12" ![]() Last edited by JamminWagon; 03-31-2008 at 05:34 PM.. |

thanks guys!
i think i'm actually gonna go with 2 slight wedges (facing more up than anything, and a lil towards the rear) angled slightly inwards (facing each other) against the rear seats. in between i'm gonna attached them with a box that eventually i'll use to house either the xbox of pair of caps, with led's/neon. and then a fluch mounted into the floor amp rack, with plexi and more lights (i like lights, hehe). mostly wrapped with black/grey vinyl and some red airbrushed accents (if i can get the car exterior color mixed up right). i was gonna do the fibreglass thing, but i've grown sick of making them lately, and i really havent seen many done in the magnum's that i even really liked. seem's more of a boxy, clean classy kinda car. |
