Rattly Hatch

Hey guys, I currently have a pair of Kicker CVR12s in a prefab ported box. I plan on buidling a new box soon but looking for some advice.

The way it is right now my hatch and back bumper have a terrible rattle outside of the car which just sounds bad. What do you guys do to get rid of all this rattle? and will a sealed box make a big difference vs a ported box.

i have already taken the cover off the hatch and taped/sealed down anything that moves. and also plan on removing the rear wiper soon.

I just want it to sound nice and thumpy inside and outside the car with as little rattle as possible

Have you tried putting some padding behind the license plate? Also check and make sure everything is tight on the back bumper. The whole fascia/bumper thing is not exactly the most secured thing, I know some people have rigged up ways to prevent rattle. Dyna-mat (sp?) or some of the cheaper alternative might be worth looking into.

Its usually the license plate rattling against the bumper, its mounting screws or its fram as mr walsh suggests. Try banging on the hatch when its closed to see if you can isolate the prob....

the back of the license plate is covered with foam tape, so it doesn't make any noise.

that's good to know, i knew there was soome rattling on the spoiler, i was thinking of using silicone or something between the spoiler and the window to stop it from moving, but i'll see what i can do with the light.

also what i would like to know is will a sealed box make a big difference compared to a ported box as far as rattle goes. i would assume with less airflow there would be less rattle
