Speaker Whine
Just got done replacing my rear 6x9's, and I notice there is an low whine coming from them when the music is off. I grounded the amp to the battery ground. Is this a good idea? Where are you guys grounding your amps to?
It could be my rca's to I am not sure if they are correctly shielded. |

Try the easy stuff first before pulling out the deck again. does the wine come from both speakers? if not, try switching the RCAs on the amp and see if it changes, or even disconnect the RCAs and see if the wine is still there

grounding your amp straight to the battery isnt bad they say you should run a ground fuse reason being if your battery ground to chassis dies its gona search for ground elsewhere which at that point is the ground through your amp.... and looks like everyone hit the nail on the head with wine
amp ground to long or just not good enough head unit ground rca cables |
