I don't know if this is a ipod or car problem, but here goes. I picked up a 3.5 male to male cable to hook my Ipod to the aux plug, but it sounds terrible unless i unplug the jack a 1/8th of a inch, making it want to unplug itself. It sounds great if I hold it there, but not practicle. I have a 5th gen. video, 30 gig. Headphones work fine. Starting to get to me, such a silly little peoblem.
My first guess would be the cable. Do you have any other reciever you can plug it into, whether on your home stereo or another car? If it works fine, then it may lead me to believe that the jack on your radio is at fault.
The aux plug is on the lower left corner of the head unit (REF radio, I think). The other day I tried Steve's advice and plugged it into somthing else(back of PC soundcard) and it worked as it should. Went out to the car, and now it magically works. Don't know why, but now it does. I will see what happens today, maybe it will be in a bad mood again.
