This is the simple story of my encounter with a 2008 Silver Dodge Magnum.
I had owned a 1989 Firebird (red) for over 15 years when I decide it was time to look for a new car. My brother already had a Black 2007 Dodge Charger for over a year and it was what I wanted from day one. So of course I looked online in the Auto Trader and other sites for a Charger. Everything was out of my price range at the time and we were in the beginning stages of a deep recession (early 2009). This was no time to spend money hastily, so I looked for the best bargains. I had glanced over the Magnums one or twice but I knew I could not afford this type of car, so I never gave it a second thought.
Then one day, after looking through cars day in and day out on the internet, I happened upon a Silver Magnum listed for $16,999 at the local dealership. This was way over budget for me so I decided to bookmark it, just in case.
About three weeks later in late March 2009, after a frustrating time at finding a car that I wanted I seen the bookmark and clicked on it. There is was, the silver Magnum was now marked down to $12,995 and I called my Dad and asked him to go with me to look at the car in person. So we took a drive in the morning to the dealership and looked at the car. It was clean inside and out and it fit me like a glove. The test drive was remarkable and I could not believe that I was only a few decision away from owning a Magnum (which I knew I could never afford before).
I told the dealer that I would think about it and get back to him in a few hours. I drove home and talked it over with my Dad and I was getting excited just talking about it but the biggest obstacle I was facing was - ME. Could I let go of the money that I had saved over the years that easily? It only took me an hour to get to the bank have a check made, call the dealer and drive home my new 2008 Dodge Magnum. Which I have happily named ARM8.
Why ARM8? Those are my initials for my name and 8 is my birthdate and the year of my car (2008). So you can see everything fell into line for me and I have love my Magnum ever since.
Thank you for reading and listen to my story...hope I didn't bore you too much!![]()
