Hi folks!
I'm happy to announce that GTALX 2016 has a date of Saturday, May 28, 2016 - 10:30am - 3:30pm. I think those of you that attended last year enjoyed the day based on the feedback we received
. The event will be held at Heart Lake Conservation Area again and we anticipate a much larger showing this year. This year, all raffle proceeds will go to Peel Children's Aid Society as the biggest cost being the site rental, (which I paid for last year and recouped costs through the raffle of donated prizes) is being taken care of by primary sponsor Authentic Performance out of Scarborough, Ontario.

You can view the gtalx.ca website link shown below as we get more things in place including hotel discount arrangements. Hope to see some US friends up for next year's event - remember our dollar goes a lot further up here LOL.

Here's some local media coverage from last year -

Merry Christmas all!

Hey folks - as a matter of convenience, a participant vehicle information template, which can be placed on your dashboard, has been uploaded to www.gtalx.ca. You’ll see the link on the landing page.
Feel free to use it (or not), or create your own if you want to tell people more about your vehicle.
123 days to go!
Hope to see you there – should be a great turnout this year and remember, all raffle proceeds go to Peel Children’s Aid Society.

Hi folks, just a quick note to let all those who ride motorcycles know that it looks like Davies Harley-Davidson will be participating in this year's event as an exhibitor, showing some of the H-D 2016 product.

So, we'll all be able to look at some really nice cars AND some really nice bikes as well. Win-win! 115 days to go!!

If you're coming in from out of town and want to stay for the weekend, remember that the extra discount (on top of the discounted rate) on the hotel ends at the end of this month. Accommodation contact details can be found at GTALX Spring Thaw.

Hi folks, the GTALX Spring Thaw 2016 participant form and Sponsor section on the website have been updated to include all raffle prize contributors. Additionally, the Photos section of the website has another slideshow showing more pics from last year’s day at Heart Lake Conservation Area. Please bookmark the www.gtalx.ca website and check the site periodically as we will eventually be posting raffle ticket prices and rules along with rain date information. We keep saying this each year but, this year should truly be the BEST GTALX event to date!!

99 days and counting! Don’t forget to book your accommodation if you plan on arriving on the Friday. The additional accommodation discount ends on Feb 29th. Accommodation details are here - http://www.gtalx.ca/sponsors.html and remember, pricing is in CAD$’s so anyone coming up from the U.S is getting a hell of a deal on accommodation due to the CAD$ sucking large!
REMEMBER - a rain date has been booked for GTALX 2016 - Saturday July 9th in case May 28 gets cancelled due to the possibility of heavy rain. Keep an eye on the GTALX Spring Thaw event website for updates. If the event is to be cancelled, notice will be posted on the website by Friday May 13th.

21 days to go folks! As it stands right now, the weather will be fine (based on historical weather data for May 28). BBQ food service, raffle prizes, exhibitors, supporting a local charitable organization, MOPARS, seeing people you haven't seen since last year and, an ice-cream truck! - LOL….does it get any better??!

Ok folks, 15 days to go until GTALX 2016 and May 28 is THE date now. The rain date reservation has been released. Let’s hope we get the weather that is forecasted based on historical data.
A few notes to remember…
•BBQ food and ice cream service is cash only
•Raffle tickets can be purchased using debit/credit but bring cash in case of issues with the terminal.
•NO ATM’s ON SITE
MOST IMPORTANT - The site is a conservation area and we want to be able to continue and book it annually so please, resist the urge for burnouts while on park grounds.
See you'ze there!!

10 days to go folks and the weather is looking great!!
This will be my last post here on this event (I need some downtime) so a few IMPORTANT notes/reminders…please read.
1 – bring cash for food and any swag that GTALX vendors might be selling (e.g. decals, hats, shirts, etc.)
2 – there will be a POS debit/credit terminal for raffle ticket sales only but bring cash in case it goes down.
3 – bring a lawn chair (and hat and/or sunscreen) – you’ll have lots of green space to choose a spot to plant yourself.
4 – if you have any parts you want to sell, bring them.
5 – event site is on the map at www.gtalx.ca
6 – The event starts at 10am and cars arriving early will be staged at the pic-nic site entrance (not to be confused with main entrance) at which point volunteer parking staff will direct you to your parking space. Please follow their directions. (The star on the map indicates the event site – click on the star and just behind the car in the pic is the beginning of the staging area)
7 – contrary to what the event website indicates (correction to be made shortly), the first raffle draw will be held at noon. This should give everyone ample time to arrive, park, stake their piece of green space and purchase tickets. There will be 2 or 3 other raffle draws (multiple prizes per draw) throughout the day.
8 – Remember that all raffle ticket proceeds will be donated to Peel Children’s Aid Society and we have some awesome raffle prizes!! A “big cheque” presentation of funds raised will happen after the last series of draws, which will start around 2pm.
9 – after the event, please take the time to provide your feedback via email – gtalxfeedback@gmail.com. Your feedback is important to ensure that future GTALX events are successful.
Lastly, for GTALX first timers, you will immediately appreciate the beauty of the event site upon arrival. Please respect the environment and the site – as someone said on FB, this is not an ERTEFA event and we want to be able to return to the site each year (until we run out of parking space LOL)
I hope that everyone enjoys the event. This should be the best GTALX event to date!
Until May 28 - Peace!

Hi folks, here is a link to a GTALX 2016 attendee survey. It only asks for your postal code, and vehicle details. You can complete the survey before or after the meet but please only complete the survey once. When you access the form, you’ll see others who have entered their own data.
It will be kind of neat to see where people are coming from or came from. I hope you’ll participate and look forward to seeing everyone next weekend!

The GTALX 2016 event at Heart Lake Conservation Area was a HUGE success in terms of both attendance and money raised for Peel Children’s Aid Society. Some links to event pics appears below

Folks, here is a link to the GTALX 2016 survey results to date. Only a small sample has responded but it was interesting to note that of those that have responded, Chargers were the predominant model and there were more Magnums than 300's. 5.7's were the most abundant, followed by the 6.4 and then the 6.2SC. Hopefully, as the week goes on, more people will respond and we'll have more accurate representation. As a side note, it was really nice to see cars travelling from Quebec, Michigan and New York state to attend. To those folks, thank you – I hope you enjoyed the day!
