CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER!! THE OCTOBER CUSTOM MAGNUM OF THE MONTH IS: FloridaRT ![]() Thanks to all who voted but most of all congratulations Bob! Here are some words from our winner..... First of all, I want to thank those responsible for nominating me and especially those of you that voted for me. It is an honor to win CMOM and it hasn't quite sunk in yet that I actually won. I have been into cars (and motorcycles) all of my life and I guess that makes me a car nut. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful wife who puts up with me - thanks Honey for being so understanding. I was born in 1940 and fortunate to grow up in the 60's with all those great muscle cars. I owned a few of them, just wish I still had them today. I have seen a lot of changes in the last 50 years, I miss the $.29 a gallon gas the most - LOL. I have spent a lot of money on cars and parts along the way, but I sure had a lot of fun doing it. As great as the old cars were, they can't compare to the newer cars of today. Today's cars are built better and last longer, but they sure aren't cheaper. I bought my first new car in 1961, it was a 61' Pontiac 2 dr. hardtop Catalina with a 389" motor and 3 speed stick - it cost $2,850. I was only 20 years old at the time, so it had to be in my Fiancee's name, she was 18 at the time. Back then a male had to be 21 to be considered an adult, while the females only had to be 18. So I had to marry her to get my darn car.............. LOL When I was younger, I only did mod's that made my car faster. I kind of liked the sleeper look. I never did any mod's to the outside of the car. Then I got my Magnum back in April 2004, and the rules changed. I blame it all on Danko Reproductions, LOL. As you can see I like Mo's products............. A LOT! Money has been tight, as I went on S.S. Disability back in 1994. So my mod's have been few and what I could afford, I had to sneek a few of them past my wife - don't tell her. My RT is fast enough for me, I just want it to look good and sound great. I really enjoy Custom Magnums.COM and all the great people here. If you can put up with my posts and remarks, I hope to be around for a long time. Thanks again for the great honor. Bob |
