Here are a few words from our winner!!
What can I say. You guys have all been great from the start. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your votes! This was the first site I come up on, and I became a member even before I bought a Magnum. And then the love began!
I have been into cars most all of my life. My father was a car fanatic, and that is what I credit my interest in cars from. He was more into the hotrod scene in the 60’s and into the 70’s even. From my first car which was a 1974 Datsun B210 nicknamed the “Blue Goose”, to my Chevrolet fetishes, I have always been into modding cars to make them stand out from the other 100’s of them in my town. I have modded a newer Malibu, and my car before the Mag was a full tricked out Nissan Altima. It is in my blood, and will be to the day I die! I have been through it all…The reverse rim look, hyrdos, etc. Booming systems where you could not even hear the music, but you could hear the bass a mile away. I was “cool” or so I thought! LOL
When I first seen the Magnum, I just could not understand why anyone would want to buy one of those. Then slowly but surely, I started seeing a few of them running around. I then went out and Googled for Magnum sites, and found this site. Started reading up on it, and what kind of mods were readily out for it. The modding factor was important to me, since I am heavy into showing my car. I checked CarDomain and StreetSourceMag for some ideas. I was then sold on the Magnum, and started my trek after getting one. I normally would just settle for the lesser of the engines that are offered, but said you know for once I want to go fast and look “cool”! So off to buy a Magnum R/T. I actually bought my wheels for the Magnum, 10 days before I even bought the Magnum. Couple of people called me crazy, and that I needed to be committed! LOL But I knew I was getting this car, I just had to decide the color, etc.
My first memorable moment in the Mag, was no further than 5 miles outside of leaving the dealership. Dealer tag and all, this Scion TC pulls up besides me…Light changes and he punches it like a scalded dog off the line and at full speed until the next light. At the next light he tries the same thing, and he had his A$$ handed to him to say the least. LOL So at the next light, he would not even get besides me.
In closing, I would like to thank my fellow members for bestowing this honor on me. Without members like you and this site, my Mag would not be where it is today!!! Now mod on!
