As far as losing hp with true duals...what really happens is your power band gets shifted higher into the rpm range.

The 3.5 v6 does do well with the y-pipe into a single exhuast and that configuration allows the power band to start low in the rpm range.

If you go true dual, I would suggest using an x-pipe to better optimize your exhaust scavenging.

If you do straight pipes from the convertors out without joining the banks then you will feel some loss in engine power.

I kept the factory convertors and did not have any issues there.

I forgot how much I spent on the x-pipe and two mufflers, but it was definately cheaper than buying locally. I ordered them from ebay and I found what I needed at very good prices.

The piping and welding is where majority of your costs will come from.

Other than that, you would actually be better off getting a custom exhaust done in 2.25" piping than throwing on the srt factory exhaust.

Good luck on your quest.
Does the x pipe go before or after the 2 mufflers, when using a tru dual setup?

lawndoc...mine is before the mufflers where the y-pipe used to be.

In all honesty, the most optimum place to put it is between the convertors and the mufflers.

Hope that helps you out.

Yes that does help. The local shop that I go too has been trying to get me to do the tru dual setup but I wasn't exactly sure the best way to go about it. Thank you.
