I was putting the SRT exhaust on but from a dealer it's very pricey. I ended up putting in a custom made custom designed TRUE DUEL. It looks good, sounds good and I felt a few extra ponies right out of the gate...

I have a custom magnaflow true dual on my sxt.
The srt exhaust is a 2.5" pipe (If I remember correctly) and the sxt pipe is a 2.25". The extra 1/4 inch does make a big difference. As far as losing hp with true duals...what really happens is your power band gets shifted higher into the rpm range. The 3.5 v6 does do well with the y-pipe into a single exhuast and that configuration allows the power band to start low in the rpm range. If you go true dual, I would suggest using an x-pipe to better optimize your exhaust scavenging. If you do straight pipes from the convertors out without joining the banks then you will feel some loss in engine power. I kept the factory convertors and did not have any issues there. I forgot how much I spent on the x-pipe and two mufflers, but it was definately cheaper than buying locally. I ordered them from ebay and I found what I needed at very good prices. The piping and welding is where majority of your costs will come from. Other than that, you would actually be better off getting a custom exhaust done in 2.25" piping than throwing on the srt factory exhaust. Good luck on your quest. |

Zoomer's give you more HP. X pipe comes with it. You will sound like a V8 as well. Anyone that doesn't believe can come over for proof. But ya ya ya, you don't want to spend that much. I know
