ok i want to know what exactly is the speed limiter??? and how do u set it or turn it off??? can someone explain to me what it is

The speed limiter is "programmed" into the car's computer by the manufacturer to keep the car from exceeding a certain limit. The only way you can turn it off is with one of the "tuners" like a Predator that allow you to access certain areas of your car's programming. Unless you are racing (or running) is there really any reason to go faster than 127 mph?

And I think "technically" you can't disable it with the tuners. But you can raise it to 200mph, which has yet to be reached (as far as I know) by any streetable LX.

I don't know any where I could hit that with out going to jail for being stupid
but I did raise mine to 190 just cause I could

Well you profile says you have an SXT and all these post seam to relate to an R/T . .

As far as I know the factory limit for the SXT is around 110 m/h . . . or atleast that is what mine maxed out at.

You can resolve the issue with the Diablo Predator, as mentioned I don't think you can shut it off but you can set it to speeds higher than you'd be able to go.

I've got an AWD SXT. Factory-set speed limiter is at 120mph. I also have a DiabloSport Predator and raised my limit to 191mph. Of course I'll never get it to drive that fast but I have went well past the 120mph mark....................not a good idea, but it can be done. I would argue that 120 in our cars is really not a good idea either but I think I'd be arguing with everyone on the planet that owns a Magnum!! LOL

ok everyone thanks just wanted the info.... my personal best in my sxt awd was 128 fast but smooth ride hahahaha.... some little piece of shit clk 500 wanted to race.... kinda suprised i won that but MAGNUMS FOR LIFE!!!! LOL

Mags for life is right, and I love em more then I could explain but the 3.5 SXT beating a 5.0L V8 German engineered beast (or at least used to be German)....? I highly doubt that. The SXT would get stomped on both top end and off the line.

As far as the governor/limiter being taken off, I was able to do that in my 04 ZX6R by using a racing, stand-alone CPU which had NO limiter, top speed or engine speed, you could literally sit there and revv the p1ss out of it until it blew and the CPU would not take any precautionary meassures as it was designed not to. I don't think you or anyone is gonna get any real use out of increasing the factory set limiter as our cars are not aerodynamically friendly by any means, you would need and enourmous amount of HP to propel our "condom/brick on wheels" to speeds past 180-190mph.....jmho...

You limit is set at 128?

I was disappointed to find mine clock out at 110, I was up against some Lexus on the highway late at night and was just about pulling away when I maxed out haha it broke my heart.
