75 bucks for a dipstick!?!?!?!
A little bit pricey, don't you all think? |

I do not want to kill everyone's hopes about the tranny dipstick idea, the reason why our Maggies do not come with a dipstick is because to be properly read the dealer has a device they measure tranny temperatures not necessarly the amount or volume of tranny fluid that is in the Maggie. I was talking to the dealer today about the TSB problem and they explained this to me. The dealer said they do not know of any dipstick that would work (like from a Ram or other Dodge vehicle) for our Maggies.

I am curious as to why they designed it without the dipstick, seems completely stupid to me at least. Does anyone know the cost of changing the tranny fluid at the dealer anyway..
05 mag, how much are the new o-rings for the benz, and do you know the part number. I work for Carmax and could prolly get them easier than trying to go to mercedes? |

Check this thread out, it gives you the part number for the v6 and the v8.
2005 Dodge Magnum TSB's - Page 4 - LX Forums Modern Mopar Muscle Also on the other forums there is a ton of threads that discuss this tranny leak problem. Just search for tranny leak and you should find just about anything you need to know. I do not know what the dealer would charge you for changing the fluid out. |

60mm when hot has been proven to be fine, because when I was at the LXF, I had the same thread and someone went to the dealer to have them check the fluid level with the starscan and all that fancy, unecessary B.S., when he got home he checked the fluid with the dipstick that he bought himself (link) and it was 60mm. |

Don't remember, but I know they were twice as much as the DCX rings, but they last forever, at least I hope they will, because when I had the tranny leak, I changed the o-rings with DCX rings and 2 months later it leaked again, so I got the MB rings and they've been on the RT for over a year and a half and there is not one hint of a leak, and I checked it good last month when I changed the oil.

Sure it is not cheap, but you get the only dipstick that is for that transmission, with the mm markings..., and if you plan on keeping your Magnum for a long, long time like me, it's worth it, especially if you plan on changing your o-rings and service your trans yourself (I changed the filter and fluid when I first got my Mag used).
