PennsyMagnumGuy is just warmin' up!
These car manufacturers will do about anything to force people to come in and have their wallets parted from the money.

That's why there is no dipstick. 75 dollars indeed!

Just so folks are aware;

There is no need to purchase a transmission dipstick, instead utilize a length of stiff wire. All one is doing is pushing in the tool, or a length of wire, until it bottoms out in the pan, pulling it out and measuring the fluid depth. If on wanted you could put markings on the bottom of the length of wire every 10mm, but a tape measure/ruler will do the same thing...

10mm, not 10cm.
You could do like you said, but why bother, isn't better to get the real deal.

Plus that plastic thing seems to be some kind of guide so that it stays straight when it's all the way down, if you use a flexible wire, it might bend or flex and give you a false reading:

Yes mm instead of cm;

IMO it's a waste of hard-earned money. We performed back-to-back readings between a length of wire, and the Miller Tool unit used by the dealership, no difference.

You go the cheap way if you'd like, I'd rather have the real thing.
