gotta a quick question what CAI has a hydroshield...I am not trying to be a victim of hydrolock
Last saturday I drove 200 miles through rain (the whole friggin way). I opened the hood to see if it got soaked. There wasnt a drop of water. The AirRaid design seals against the hood pad and the hood has the rubber seal that goes across the front. Basically it keeps the same sealed design as the stock box just flows more. I took off the air resonator/silencer long time ago. This is the one of the main reasons I have liked the AirRaid. I was got lucky and bought this used. I wanted something more than stock for shows. Now I can pop the hood and have a lil bit to show. Eventually I will get a tower strut to add a lil more "show". Now if I can find a used tower strut and a set of Mopar springs too hahhah.

I assuming you are talking about a 5.7L?? Need to use the quote button, its like saying "look to the snow capped mountains" hahahah
I cant remember how much i paid for it but it was a good deal. I got home opened the box and then installed within 30 minutes. Including removing the old air intake setup and installing the new one. i liked this one beacuse it uses the factory mount on the Anti-freeze reservoir.
Gave me a nice throaty growl after installed and have been happy with it ever since. i might suggest adding a little weather stripping around the inner hole that tube passes threw to reduce the gap and separate the engine's hot air from the cone filter, but other than that I'm happy with it.
If more pics are need I have em just need to upload.
Has anyone heard anything about the AEM Brute Force on the 3.5? My only concern is that the emissions status is still pending. I have had bad experiences in the past with CAI fouling out the Mass air flow censors.
Sweet looking intake..I was not impressed with what anyone offered for the 2.7 it was either the chrome intake crap of ebay or some outrages priceed POS so i went with Spectre Performance it has the looks the sound and performance all rapped up with a reasonable price...and the best part its modular so you design it yourself anyway here is there web link and a pic of my creation: Spectre Performance
how did you go about getting the parts you needed for your intake?

Usually thats from over-oiling. Thats what I really dont like about the CAI's, no real "scientific" way to re-oil them. Seen a video around here somewhere where they show the manufactoring of brand X(cant rememeber). They had a robaotic arm oiling it. Look like it had a syringe full and just hit the outer folds of the filter and let it spread out. If one of the companies would say take an eyedropper per pleat, that would make it better.
