A cheap alternative to the K&N filter cleaning solution, once it runs out, is a generic brake cleaner. I use Auto Zone, it works very well and won't damage the filer. The cleaner runs out fairly quick, the oil seems to last 4 ever. Hope this helps!

great write up Brian! I never seen this before... I actually need to clean my AFE dry filter. I was surprised when I seen someone selling the cleaning kit for it, I've just blown air from the inside out so far, so I need to do this, with the right kit
*Found it....OK, this is what I need! ...and of course now I read, "its not available", LOL...I'll figure it out
