Rear Wiper Removal..

Can anyone tell me what is involved in removing the rear wiper? I've seen pics of it and love the look so I figure it's worth the hassle, just want to do it right!

Depends on how you want to spend/look like. You can simply remove the wiper and put a 'plug' or you can shave it. I just had mine shaved:

I heard the inner door panel would have to be removed so the wiper can be disconnected and the components removed? If anyone has any kind of step-by-step pictures ( I've seen that in one of the forums here about installing a stereo, it was VERY helpful!) it would be greatly appreciated!

There are a couple of people selling them on another forum (LXForums.com). I think you can get them at Home Depot.

There is also a WRITE UP, for the rear liftgate panel removal:

I did a step by step on moving the hatch switch to the bumper. Many of the steps are the same as far as getting to the motor out.

I just did the plug version this weekend. The details are posted on lxforums.com

The plug is special and cannot be purchased at HD. One member, F1fan has just bought a pack of them. You have to buy 100 of them, although the pack is under $6.

The wiper is not easily removed and most people, including me, end up breaking it. The motor is removed. Removing the lower inner panel is simple. Here are some pics I posted on the other forum.

It ends up fitting very well. In the Summer, when someone gets up for a closer look, this is what they'll see in the rear.
