Tire dressing

I'm looking into getting a new Tire Dressing/Shine, switching from Eagle One. I'm pretty sold on trying Mequiar's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss, but I had a question. Is there a product that can be applied to the entire tire? in other words the side wall and tread?

I don't know what happened to my Hankook tires but for some reason the tread is just a horrible looking brownish color and I'd like to change that. I know dressings are made for the sidewall but is it ok to put it on the tread?

It is dangerous to put tire dressing on the tread because tire dressings are naturally very slick. Try using a whitewall cleaner like "Blech White" or a good all purpose cleaner like "Fantastik" on the tread to get the brown crud off. Then just dress the sidewall of the tire. Never put tire dressing on the tread. We want you to be around for years to come.

Haha, yea I knew it would make the tires slick if put on the tread. Just was not sure if they did make a special type of shine for the tread but I guess not. I think I actually have the bleach stuff in my garage but I've been afraid to put it if it trickles down onto my rims. I'll have to put some kind of cover on the rims before doing that.

I just don't know how other people get their threads so clean, I mean I see cars all the time with incredibly brilliant shine on sidewalls and a solid black color on the treads. Mine are crappy lol.

I use STP son of a gun foam on my tires, sidewalls, inside and out and I do the tread, by the time I back out of the drive there isn't enough left to make them slick and it does keep them looking good!!! I only need to do it about once a month.

I am on a F2001 kick. It works great. Then again, these 24s don't leave me enough rubber to shine. That is bad when you have to apply tire shine with a Q-tip. LOL.

The best you will ever see is ZEP Tireless Shine. Our local NAPA has it. But we always used at the detail shops I worked at. first link I saw
