Lug nut issues...

Went to pull my stock wheels (the ones with hubcaps) off my '05 SE and discovered that I cannot take the lug nuts off. I tried to use a socket set and could not grab hold of one and the wrench that comes with the jack kit will not go on at all. Acts like the wrench is too small. The nuts appear to have small "nubs" on them.

Anyone come across this at all?

Worked on one and now it just seems to turn. Can't loosen nor tighten.

jjones111 is an unknown quantity at this point
not sure about that but i had to replace all my factory lugs cause the cap on the lugs were swollen, each lug was a diferent size had to use 3 diff socket sizes. seem to be a poor design for the lugs by dodge.

^^^ thats what the problem is 100% all the big three that use chrome caps have issues with swelling .. providing that you have the chrome nuts.

Yup, ran into the same problem on my SRT. I have gotten some extra lugs but haven't replaced yet. Mine were two different sizes! I guess I'm gonna have to brake down and buy some Gorilla chrome lugs!

I encourage everybody to get rid of the stock lugs. I went with Gorilla and one locking lug with a seperate keyed socket.

On the one that just turns, you will have to peel off the outer cover.
Use a small chisel or screwdriver, with a hammer.
On the ones that are swollen, pound on a socket to remove them.
If they spin, then more peeling is needed.

Get them off and get a set of Gorilla's.

Bob

Yup, couldn't get em off when I got my tires mounted, took walmart a good 20 minutes of trying. Only a few were messed up before they got to them, but they screwed them all up.

I ordered a new set from summit racing, then made walmart install them for free seeing as they ruined all mine.

We have the same problem on jeeps
