I want to start by extending a big handshake and thank you to Jayalbertcars and Gina from VDI. Jay the hook-up you were able to extend has allowed me to be able to do this mod without too much of a financial burden. I know it does not do anything for you Jay but I figured that with the amount of money I saved I would upgrade to platinum and hopefully give back some to the community. This site has really helped me and I enjoy learning and hopefully helping others. It is a great community and I am proud to be a member!!!
The countdown has begun and I should have the hinges here by 11:00 am. I will have to post a picture s soon as the UPS man arrives. I would like to start tonight but hopefully I can hold off until Saturday and start with a clear head. I feel good about it doing it but I am a little confused about the wiring part. If anyone has any tips or tricks please post them for me, you can never have too much advice. I have read that there may be some difficultly with making sure it is placed in the correct area. In addition, if anyone wants to PM me their cell phone number I will more then likely be giving you a call. Jay I have yours saved and I am sure it will be ringing sometime soon.
I will post pictures when I am done. Jay thanks again for the hook-up and Gina was great about going the extra mile to make sure I had the kit for this weekend. Lastly, I hope that anyone that has not upgraded his or her membership and uses the forum regularly does so soon. For $85 you not only get shirts, stickers, and other fun stuff, but you get a wealth of knowledge and discount pricing on a lot of items. Let’s keep the forum alive!!!
hello again i was glad to be of some help i cant wait to see another magnum with verticals feel free to call me any time it was really nice meeting you on the phone i have a 94 coupe deville coming for a set of 90% verticals so i will be spending another week end in the garage
The wiring is not as bad as you might think. It just pulls out of the car in a bundle and just pop the connectors back together. You do have to find a place to put them to where they do not block the door from closing. But most of us if not all of us have them on there with black tie wraps...
Good luck man, It is not hard as you are thinking. And yes I also used a black tie wrap and I also used black electrical tape. Just take your time...thats it man time. If you do have any questions PM me or EMAIL me. I check it all the time, Im not an expert but just did it so its fresh in my mind...GOOD LUCK MAN!!! AND HAVE FUN!!!! and PICS BABY
hello this is really the only site like this that i know about every one here works with every one else and we all do are own mods together it is just to cool i am proud to be a part of and a help to the members on this site
Well, I have done it I'm flying with the rest of the Magnum population. It didn't take but five hours and thats only because we really screwed up the first one and had to take the hindge off and start from the begginging to make sure all the lines matched up. The write up really helped and we breezed through it. As soon as I wash the grease and finger prints off it I'll post a few pictures. Thanks Again Jay!!!!! I could no tbe happier.
