Door Hinge Alignment

Hello, me back again, sorry for all the questions as I am just getting acquainted into the forum, but you all seem very nice so I will shoot for another question hehe.

Is there a way to align the drivers door on my magnum so it sits "more" flush against the car? The passenger side is perfect, but the driver side is out just a little more. Its a former florida rental car but only 21k miles and 1 year old.

So I guess its probably a little misaligned from just being used more often. It opens and closes just fine, doesn't leak or anything. Just bothers me a little because I'm always seeing it while looking in the mirrors that the body lines just don't line up perfect.

Any help on this?

Thanks!

If it is the handle side of the door you can adjust the striker plate in slightly by loosening the two attachment screws on the "B" pillar. Be sure to re-torque to 24ft.lbs. when completed.
If it is the hinge side you can adjust the door side of the hinge to bring it out a little. Be sure to support the door while adjusting the hinge. Tighten to 31 ft. lbs.

Rest the bottom of the door on a floor jack with a towel or other protection on top so the paint doesn't get screwed up. A helper is very useful for this job.

ahh thanks again for the tips! I haven't done this yet (had kids to deal with all weekend) but I may try sometime this week. It's just the handle side of the door, not the hinge side, so I shouldn't need any help or have to worry about the door falling or anything.

It's good to know though, because if it was the hinge side, the last thing I would have thought about is who was going to hold the door once I started to adjust it. lol. lucky for me its not that side hehe
