Door Hinge Alignment
Hello, me back again, sorry for all the questions as I am just getting acquainted into the forum, but you all seem very nice so I will shoot for another question hehe.
Is there a way to align the drivers door on my magnum so it sits "more" flush against the car? The passenger side is perfect, but the driver side is out just a little more. Its a former florida rental car but only 21k miles and 1 year old. So I guess its probably a little misaligned from just being used more often. It opens and closes just fine, doesn't leak or anything. Just bothers me a little because I'm always seeing it while looking in the mirrors that the body lines just don't line up perfect. Any help on this? Thanks! |

If it is the handle side of the door you can adjust the striker plate in slightly by loosening the two attachment screws on the "B" pillar. Be sure to re-torque to 24ft.lbs. when completed.
If it is the hinge side you can adjust the door side of the hinge to bring it out a little. Be sure to support the door while adjusting the hinge. Tighten to 31 ft. lbs. |

ahh thanks again for the tips! I haven't done this yet (had kids to deal with all weekend) but I may try sometime this week. It's just the handle side of the door, not the hinge side, so I shouldn't need any help or have to worry about the door falling or anything.
It's good to know though, because if it was the hinge side, the last thing I would have thought about is who was going to hold the door once I started to adjust it. lol. lucky for me its not that side hehe ![]() |
