New Engine Cover Mod (Thanks Art-Tistic)
I used the article by Art-Tistic here $10 to customize your engine cover.
for the basis of my mod. I couldn't find the Liquid Masking Film, so I just used blue tape to outline and cover up the "HEMI" on both sides of the engine cover. I did use the Krylon Fusion paint that Art-Tistic suggested, however I did mine in the red only. Finished up with 4 coats of Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel Clear Coat. I thought the center piece needed some love as well, so I did a bit of research and found Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter Clear Primer, it's supposed to be ideal for automotive plastics and helps other paints to stick to the plastic. Applied 3 coats of the primer and 3 coats of the Dupli-Color Clear Coat afterwards. Total cost was under $20 bucks. ![]() Here's some pics... |
