Wow, Has Anybody Installed Billet Grill Inserts? I Did All 6 Pieces Thsi Weekand And It Took Me For Ever, How The Hell Do You Get A Screw Driver To Screw The In The Screws With No Room At All, I'm Curios Anybody Do This An Eiser Way, Just In Case I Want To Do Mine Over So Its In Place And Dont Loose An Insert On Somthing
Did you remove the fascia to do the install?
If not, it is way quicker if you remove it, then you can install the grilles on bench and reinstall the fascia.
it all depends on what type of grille it is..my old one was an overlay it took about 15 minutes to install..my new one I had to create mounting brackets so it took all night...I have to agree with Brett its better to take the fascia off
I Did Take It Off, Had To So I Can Also Install The Bumper Inserts As Well, But It Tells You To Use The Exsisting Tabs On The Grill To Screw The Brackets On The Inserts, With The Screws And Clips They Give You, It Was Just Hard To Try To Get A Screw Driver In There To Install, So There Not As Tight Has I Would Like
yup its hard i only had two existing tabs that lined up I had to cut six brackets out of sheet metal to top it off it was the middle of the night and I need my car in the morning so I was scrambling for clips and screws...but it came out ok and looks allot better then it did I had to use a shorty on a couple screws an extra long on others
I Had The Same Problem On My Se But Thats Before I Knew That I Had To Take Off The Facia To Insert The Lower Grilles. I Was Two Days Before It Was All Said And Done! But Yea It Is A Pain To Do!
Did You Remove It From The Car?that Was Faster For Me Than Trying To Install It While On The Car.i Did All Six Pieces In About 45min.it Was A Precision Grill.
I have the 4piece setup. The top 2 large inserts went on in about 10 minutes. I just removed those 2 plastic fascia-to-radiator gap covers, reached my hand with the screwdriver down there and it was really easy.
The bottom 2 thin inserts between the fog lights were a little harder because there was no pre-drilled holes.
Still went on really fast, though.
