A Day Of Mods!! What A Great Day!

Today was a great day. I got the mod itch today. Everyone at my dads car lot told me that i would screw it up. but i proved them wrong.

The Walk Around!






The Molding is still on and so are the tags. but not for long.

now i had a heat gun. but a blow dryer is fine too. i also used a plastic razer blade. so i would not scratch my paint.







Heat the molding up just a little bit not to much. you dont want heat it to much to bubble the paint or melt the molding.

Peal the molding off slowly.



That is what it might come up looking like. with the sticky still on.



us the take off. or goo beagon to take off the sticky. us the plastic razor to help peal it off.

do the same for the emblems. but be careful not to break the letters.

now what i did was after i got all the sticky off i washed just those spots on the car.

dry the spots well.

then its time for the compound.



you will also need a buffer.



place the compound on the spots were you have taken on molding and emblems.



then buff. you will need to do this twice one each spot. to make sure that were you removed the peices maches your paint.







after you are done and everything matches. you need to wash your car.



then shammy off really good. making sure that it was dry.

Then it is time to take your shinning agent and buff over all the spots were you have gone over with the compound. you might just do the whole car.

then it is time to wax. i prewaxed witht he buffer with a brightener, then put three coats of wax on. and man does she shine.











i just had to get the shots in before the sun went down. that is me durty as hell. but it was well worth it.

Looking good. You should know better than to listen to the dearler...LOL.

For those who might shy away from a heat gun you can use a heavy weight piece of fishing line and slide it under one edge and use a sawing motion while you pull the molding towards you as you move down the side of car.

Goods good . . . i am undecided about removing the mouldings from my 05 due to the possible bubble issue.

PS: your front left fog bezel is missing . . . but you probably know that.

yea. i was driving home one night. and a racoon jumped out in front of me and i never saw that peice again. nore the racoon. lol. o well i am saving up to put the fogs in anyway. just a little peice of my huge list of mods to come.

Andrew... that's a very nice job! I just make myself do that mod! Plus I ain't removing my emblems.... I'm working REALLY HARD to pay for my SRT and I want to SEE THOSE LETTERS!!! LOL

Great Job man! I love the molding off but I have the bubbles...
